After the popularity in years by-gone and following the amazing performances of Rubyy Jones, Eliza Delite and Peggy Delune in 2016, we have taken a careful look at the world’s finest performers and have handpicked a brand new selection of sultry burlesque vixens to wow and amaze you.
Voted number 1 UK Burlesque Performer of 2016 by 21st Century Burlesque and with a worldwide ranking of number 12, Betsy Rose is something truly special. A London legend, she’s dedicated to the true roots of burlesque and has the performance skills to set her apart from the rest, armed with a classic look and a performance background as a professional dancer. Her repertoire encompasses a variety of techniques and styles including: fan dances, military themed strip teases and ballet tinged tributes to the Ziegfeld Follies.
She’s seen all manner of success: she’s performed in West End Runs of The Hurly Burly Show; worked with Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy and Cointreau; entertained The British Royal Family, Italian Mafia and Grand prix elites and modelled for Vogue and Playboy.
On top of her impressive 21st Century Burlesque ranking she has also been recognised as GQ Italia’s Best Burlesque Performer of 2015 and Best Burlesque in the London Cabaret Awards 2014.
Hot on the heels of Betsy Rose comes the lady voted number 2 Burlesque Performer of 2016 – Vicky Butterfly. A bohemian upbringing as the daughter of the unlikely union of Irish showgirl and Viennese aristocrat brings a unavoidable air of decadence to her aesthetic , think giant Faberge eggs, Swan Lake and glitter globes. Meanwhile her background in a variety of performance disciplines including: ballet, opera and circus and theatrical design make her the sum of equal parts burlesque starlet; performance artiste and music hall Vaudevillian.
Internationally recognised, she has an impressive resume, work with The Royal Academy of Art, The Moulin Rouge and Maserati are just a few of the big names to grace her history and this is on top of a variety of appearances in music videos for Queens of the Stone Age, The Fratellis and The Kings of Leon.
On top of this Vicky is also a cast member of circus variety trailblazers La Clique and won the trophy for “Most Dazzling Dancer” at The Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas in 2016.
Our third stunner, brunette bombshell and contemporary pin up babe, Missy Malone was named in the 21st Century Burlesque International Burlesque Top 50 in 2013 and reached the UK Top 20 in 2014.
Her performances balance her 50s Hollywood starlet looks with a personable charm that warms audiences to her while she draws on a plethora of skills from a long and impressive career that include; 18 years of acting, 15 years of modelling and 13 years of burlesque, resulting in jaw dropping performances that incorporate fan dancing, traditional strip tease stilt walking and static trapeze.
A genuine star she’s supported some of the biggest names in the burlesque industry including Catherine D’Lish and Dirty Martini and has performed internationally in countries such as USA, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, Holland, Ireland, Finland, Austria, Germany, Jersey, Spain, India and France.
On top of all this she’s also been the face of Lamb’s Navy Rum and even graced the covers of Vintage Life, Milkcow and The List.
Devilish women such as these need someone just as extravagant and flamboyant to present them, someone: “Charismatic and downright filthy.” “More seamless than a Venusian onesie.” “Absurd, terrifying, and brilliantly original.” “Mesmerising, filthy, intelligent and hilarious.”
Meet Joe Black.
A self-professed, gin drinking cabaret darling, musical comedy misfit, burlesque haunter, drag clown and acid tongued ringmaster.
Inhabiting the obscure junction between musician, performer and comedian, Joe Black will take you on a journey the likes of which you have never seen before. From the hilarious to the filthy, this quick talking, silver tongued devil will seduce your emotions, making you laugh, cry, and cringe as he blurs the line of what’s decent and acceptable within entertainment.
Words don’t do justice to a character such as this. Joe Black has to be seen (and heard) to be believed.
