Socially Distanced Garden Party

*** The Event ***

Come join us at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens for an evening of great music, drinks and street food, organised in a responsible and socially distanced way for the whole family to enjoy.

Sit outside on one of our pre-booked benches, or bring camping chairs and a picnic blanket and sit on the lawn. This is a chance to listen to some live music, enjoy delicious food and drink and have a fantastic evening in a safe and responsible manner.

The event takes place outside and a minimum of 2m gap between pitches and is perfect for anyone who would like to get out and about but also needs to make sure they are isolating properly. We have provided a web doc on all our Covid 19 mitigation measures that you can read here:

Welcome to our socially distanced Swingamajig event, and we look forward to seeing you May 20th.  Here is a bit more information about the event rules and regulations and what to expect.

Event format
With bands and DJs on the stage, the audience will be seated around the gardens on the lawn in pre booked pitches.  It will be a proms in the park style event and strictly no congregating in front of the stage. This is an open air event, so while we have carefully selected an evening without rain… (touch wood) please come prepared just in case.  We will go ahead rain on shine.  Alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks and hot food will be on sale and we run from 6 -11.

When booking tickets you need to book a seating pitch area or a bench (Benches are currently sold out).  You are welcome to bring your own camping chairs, picnic blankets etc but not food or drink.  We are observing the rule of 6, with a maximum of 6 people to a pitch from up to 2 separate households, and no mixing between pitches.

Tickets and queuing
When you arrive, follow the signs through the carpark to the green gate where you will be greeted by our staff and brought to your pitch/bench.  Seating is allocated so please wait to be seated.  Please observe social distancing when arriving and wear a mask when interacting with our staff.  We have a strict one way system in place to keep groups isolated.  We want to make a safe space for people to come out even if they would normally be shielding at home, so it is essential that everyone respects the one way systems and other people’s personal space.  At no point should you be within 2m of any member of public outside your group.

We will have toilet facilities and hand washing facilities available on site.  Please follow the instructions from our stewards.

Food and drink
Food will be provided by the Hungry Toad Street food van who are Swingamajig favourites and have been with us since our first events.  We will post a menu closer to the time, but there will be options to suit all dietary/allergy requirements.   Drinks will be provided in association with one of our favourite local pubs and more info on this coming soon.  Table service will be provided and more info on this to be provided on the day.  We will only be accepting cards on site.
